Rental Policy

Effective 2025 — Applies to All Online & In-Store Rental Orders

Welcome to the DIAMOND ICQ Jewellery Rental Program.

We've put this policy together so that every customer clearly understands how our
rental system works, what's required, what fees apply, and what responsibilities
are involved.

Our goal is to give you a premium, transparent, and smooth rental experience —
zero hidden fees, zero confusion, zero misunderstandings.

So that your rental experience runs smoothly, please read through all the terms
below carefully before submitting your order. Submitting a rental order means
you've agreed to these terms and conditions.

1. Overview of the Rental Service
The DIAMOND ICQ Jewellery Rental Programme gives you access to high-quality jewellery for special events, photoshoots, weddings, and personal enjoyment — without needing to purchase the item outright.

We offer two ways to rent, designed for different customer needs:

Renting as a Member (Section 2)
You purchase a membership plan and receive Wallet Credit (used to pay rental fees or buy jewellery) and Member Points (which determine the maximum jewellery value you can rent at one time). Members enjoy bonus credit, complimentary rentals, and tier-based privileges.

Renting as a Non-Member (Section 3)

No membership required. You provide a Credit Card Hold (pre-authorisation) as a deposit, equivalent to the original retail price of the item. The pre-authorisation only freezes your credit limit — no funds are deducted, and it will not appear on your monthly statement. Once the item is returned on time and in good condition, the pre-authorisation is released in full within 1 working day.

Whichever path you choose, our staff manually review and approves every rental in order to make sure you receive the right level of service.

2. Renting as a Member

A membership unlocks bonus Wallet Credit, flexible usage, and tier-based privileges.

2.1 Membership Purchase

Memberships can be purchased online or in-store.
  • Online purchase: the order appears in our system like a normal purchase
  • In-store purchase: our staff will help you create an online order, so that your Membership is properly linked to your DIAMOND ICQ account
Once your membership is paid, DIAMOND ICQ staff manually add:
  • Wallet Credit (including the bonus amount)
  • Member Points
  • The appropriate Membership Tier Tag

2.2 Wallet Credit Explained

Wallet Credit functions like a prepaid stored-value balance in your account.
  • It can be used to pay rental fees
  • It can be used to purchase jewellery
  • It never expires
  • It is completely non-refundable
  • It is always used first before any other payment method
Wallet Credit gives you the freedom to rent or purchase without making a new payment every time.
Wallet Credit cannot be combined with other promotions, including but not limited to discounts and sale items. Wallet Credit only applies to full-price items.

2.3 Member Points Explained

Member Points represent the maximum total jewellery value you can rent at one
time. They are not cash and cannot be spent. They simply measure rental
eligibility.

How Member Points behave:
  • When you rent an item, Member Points equal to the jewellery value are frozen
  • During this time, you may rent additional items using only the remaining active
  • Member Points
  • When the item is returned, the frozen Member Points are restored
  • If you purchase the rented jewellery, Member Points decrease permanently
  • based on the remaining membership value

2.4 Membership Tiers


Sapphire Membership — HK$10,000
Benefits include:
  • Wallet Credit: HK$11,000 (includes a 10% bonus)
  • Member Points: HK$12,000
  • One complimentary 3-day rental (jewellery value up to HK$12,000)
  • Wallet Credit can be used for purchases
Ideal if you want flexibility without committing to high upfront costs.

Ruby Membership — HK$50,000
Benefits include:
  • Wallet Credit: HK$60,000 (includes a 20% bonus)
  • Member Points: HK$60,000
  • One complimentary one-month rental (jewellery value up to HK$60,000)
  • Complimentary cleaning and resizing on purchases
A natural fit for repeat renters who value premium service.

Diamond Membership — HK$100,000
Benefits include:
  • Wallet Credit: HK$125,000 (includes a 25% bonus)
  • Member Points: HK$125,000
  • Two complimentary 1-month rentals (jewellery value up to HK$125,000)
  • A complimentary 3-day birthday rental (jewellery value up to HK$125,000)
  • Complimentary cleaning and resizing on purchases
     Built for those who frequently rent or purchase — giving you the full DIAMOND ICQ experience.

2.5 Wallet Credit Top-Up

You may top up your Wallet Credit any time for additional rentals.
Key rules:
  • Wallet Credit top-ups are non-refundable
  • Wallet Credit never expires
  • Credit card payments incur a 3% processing fee
  • Wallet Credit is always used first

2.6 Deposit Option (When Member Points Are Insufficient)

If your chosen piece exceeds your current Member Points, simply pay a deposit to
rent it.
How the Deposit Works
  • Orders requiring a deposit must be completed in-store.
  • The deposit is collected at pickup. You may provide it via a credit card hold
  • (pre-authorisation), Or pay by cash, bank transfer, or FPS if you do not have a
  • credit card
  • The deposit is held, not charged, and is released once the jewellery is
  • returned in good condition
  • Any fees for damage, late return, or missing components will be deducted
  • from the deposit
  • Rental Policy 4
  • If the charges exceed the deposit, you'll need to settle the difference
The deposit secures higher-value rentals — and lets you enjoy premium jewellery even when your Member Points are insufficient. Whichever membership tier you hold, you can still wear the piece you've set your heart on.

3. Renting as a Non-Member

You don't need to be a member to rent from DIAMOND ICQ. Non-member rentals work through a Credit Card Hold (pre-authorisation).

3.1 How the Credit Card Hold Works

  • The pre-authorisation amount is equivalent to the original retail price of the item
  • The pre-authorisation only freezes your credit limit — no funds are deducted, and it will not appear on your monthly statement
  • Once the item is returned on time and in good condition, the pre-authorisation will be fully and automatically released
  • All pre-authorisations or deposits will be fully released or refunded within 1 working day after the item is returned on time and in good condition

3.2 What Gets Deducted from the Credit Card Hold

The following fees, if applicable, will be deducted from the Credit Card Hold:
  • Late return penalties (see Section 5.5)
  • Damage, loss, or tampering charges (see Section 10)
  • Purchase price, if the rental is converted to a purchase (see Section 11)
If the total charges exceed the pre-authorisation, you'll need to settle the difference. If only part of the hold is used, the remaining balance is released immediately once charges are finalised.

3.3 Paying the Rental Fee


The rental fee for non-members is NOT deducted from the Credit Card Hold.
You'll pay the rental fee separately at booking, by credit card, FPS, cash, or bank  transfer.
The Credit Card Hold serves only as a deposit, covering the potential charges listed in Section 3.2 above.

3.4 Pickup

Non-member rentals must be completed in-store.

4. Delivery & Pickup Rules

For members renting within their Member Points eligibility:
  • Items valued below HK$30,000 → home delivery is available
  • Items valued above HK$30,000 → in-store pickup is required
In-store pickup is required for the following:
  • All non-member rentals
  • Member rentals requiring a deposit (when Member Points are insufficient)

5. Rental Plans & Fees

DIAMOND ICQ offers three rental durations, suited to different needs. The fees below apply to both members and non-members.

5.1 Short-Term Rental (3 Days)

  • Fee: 5% of jewellery value, minimum HK$500
  • Ideal for short events such as weddings, photoshoots, or parties
  • If converted to a purchase within the 3 days, the rental fee is fully waived

5.2 Monthly Rental (1 Month)

  • Fee: 10% of jewellery value, minimum HK$1,000
  • Best for longer events such as honeymoon travel, extended occasions, or longer-term wear

5.3 Extended Rental (2 Months)

  • Fee: 15% of jewellery value, minimum HK$1,000
  • Designed for filming, longer trips, or extended occasions

5.4 How Rental Fees Are Paid

  • Members: All rental fees are deducted automatically from Wallet Credit. If insufficient, you may top up or contact customer service
  • Non-members: Pay at booking by credit card, FPS, cash, or bank transfer (not deducted from Credit Card Hold)
  • Multiple items may be rented simultaneously, as long as your Member Points or Credit Card Hold capacity allow

5.5 Late Return

Late returns are handled as follows:

Short-Term Rental (3 Days) Returned Late

The rental automatically converts to a 1-month rental, with the additional fee charged accordingly.

Monthly Rental (1 Month) Returned Late

The rental automatically converts to a 2-month rental, with the additional fee charged accordingly.

Extended Rental (2 Months) Returned Late

The jewellery is considered purchased, and you must pay the full retail price.

How Late Fees Are Paid

  • Members: Late fees are deducted from Wallet Credit; if insufficient, the balance must be settled immediately
  • Non-members: Late fees are deducted from the Credit Card Hold; if insufficient, the balance must be settled immediately

6. Jewellery Rental Eligibility Information

All jewellery in the DIAMOND ICQ Collection is available for rent. Each jewellery page offers options for 3-day rental / 1-month rental / 2-month rental / direct purchase. You may browse by category or by occasion to find the piece you're looking for.

Every rental-eligible product page clearly states:
  • For members: "Required Member Points to Rent This Item: HK$[Value]"
  • For non-members: A Credit Card Hold equivalent to the item's retail price
This way, you know exactly whether you are eligible before placing an order. If an item is currently being rented by someone else:
  • It will show "Currently Rented"
  • The site will display the next available delivery/pickup date
  • The item may still be pre-ordered for purchase

7. Online Rental Booking — Step-by-Step

Your online rental flow looks like this:
  1. Choose the item you want to rent
  2. Select the desired rental duration
  3. Select the date (up to 90 days in advance):
  • Members: Choose home delivery or in-store pickup date, per the rules above
  • Non-members: Choose in-store pickup date
 4. Confirm the order and pay the rental fee:
  • Members: Pay using Wallet Credit
  • Non-members: Pay by credit card, FPS, cash, or bank transfer
 5. DIAMOND ICQ staff review the order manually
 6. The corresponding amount is frozen:
  • Members: Member Points equal to the jewellery's value are frozen immediately
  • Non-members: The Credit Card Hold (equivalent to the item's retail price) is processed at in-store pickup
 7. The jewellery is delivered or collected on the selected start date
 8. The rental period officially begins on that date
The manual review ensures every order flows through the right path.

8. Pre-Booked Rental Cancellation Rules

We understand plans can change. Our cancellation rules are designed to be fair to both you and the store.

If cancelled more than 48 hours before delivery / pickup

  • Full rental fee refunded
  • Members: Member Points fully restored
  • Non-members: Credit Card Hold fully released
  • No charges applied

If cancelled within 48 hours of delivery / pickup

  • A 20% cancellation fee (based on the rental fee) applies
  • The remaining 80% is refunded

DIAMOND ICQ will make reasonable efforts to fulfil your reservation

In the event of unforeseen circumstances or if the item has been sold, making the item unavailable, DIAMOND ICQ will:
  • Notify you as soon as possible; and
  • Where feasible, offer a similar or alternative item; or
  • Allow you to choose another item; or
  • Cancel the reservation at no charge

9. Rental Eligibility Verification

DIAMOND ICQ manually verifies every rental order.

Staff will check:
  • Members: Do you have enough Member Points? Was the rental fee correctly deducted?
  • Non-members: Is your credit card valid? Will the Credit Card Hold pre-authorisation succeed at pickup?
  • Is the item available on the selected date?
If you do not meet the eligibility, we'll reach out to you with the following options:
  • Switch to a lower-value piece
  • Pay an additional deposit
  • Cancel the rental for a full refund (if more than 48 hours before delivery / pickup)

10. Damage, Loss & Tampering Policy

DIAMOND ICQ holds strict quality and safety standards.

10.1 Normal Wear (No Charge)

Minor signs of wear from careful use — such as light surface scratches or natural strap creasing — are considered normal.

Any damage, alteration, or wear to the Centre Stone (the most prominent stone in the piece), as well as significant loss or damage to Accent Stones (such as smaller diamonds or side stones), are NOT considered normal wear.

10.2 Minor Damage

Superficial damage that does not affect structure or function.
  • Fixed repair / refurbishment fee from HK$500, depending on the item

10.3 Centre Stone or Accent Stone Damage

Any damage to the centre Stone — including but not limited to chipping, cracking, scratching, or loss — will incur cost responsibility.
Significant loss or damage to Accent Stones will incur the cost of replacement and the retail price of the stone.

10.4 Severe or Functional Damage

Includes damage affecting structure, stones, safety, or functionality (e.g. broken jewellery, missing or damaged stones, watches not functioning, water damage, cracked crystals).
  • Repair costs will be charged where possible; or
  • The item will be deemed purchased at full retail price if repair is not feasible

10.5 Loss

  • If the jewellery itself or its centre Stone is lost, the item will be deemed purchased at full retail price
  • Components include, but are not limited to, boxes, pouches, certificates, or clasps. If any of these are missing, you may be charged for the missing component at retail price
  • If the jewellery is damaged because of missing boxes, pouches, or protective materials, you will be charged for the relevant damage as determined under sections 10.1 – 10.4 above

10.6 Tampering

Any third-party cleaning, polishing, resizing, servicing, opening, or repair is strictly prohibited.
  • The rental agreement will be void; and
  • The item will be deemed purchased at full retail price

10.7 Inspection

  • Any concerns must be reported to DIAMOND ICQ within 12 hours of receipt
  • Damage assessments are conducted by DIAMOND ICQ professionals, based on documented inspection records

10.8 How Damage Charges Are Paid

  • Members: Charges are deducted from Wallet Credit; if insufficient, the balance must be settled immediately
  • Non-members: Charges are deducted from the Credit Card Hold; if the charges exceed the hold, the balance must be settled immediately

11. Converting a Rental to a Purchase

You may fall in love with a piece during the rental and decide to buy it.

Short-Term Rental (3 Days) Conversion

If converted to a purchase within the 3 days:
  • The rental fee is fully waived
  • You pay only the full retail price of the item

Monthly or Extended Rental Conversion

If you decide to purchase:
  • Rental fees already paid are not refunded and not waived
  • You pay the full retail price
  • Total cost = Retail price + Rental fees paid

How the Purchase Is Paid

  • Members: The purchase amount can be paid via Wallet Credit; any shortfall is settled separately. Member Points will be reduced by the corresponding retail price
  • Non-members: The purchase amount can be deducted from the Credit Card Hold (converting the hold into an actual charge); any shortfall is settled separately

12. Customer Responsibilities

When renting jewellery, you agree to:
  • Handle the jewellery with care
  • Avoid exposure to chemicals, heat, water, or excessive force
  • Refrain from any self-repair or third-party modification
  • Return the item on schedule
  • Return all packaging, certificates, and accessories

13. DIAMOND ICQ Rights

DIAMOND ICQ reserves the right to:
  • Refuse rentals that do not meet eligibility criteria
  • Charge customers for late returns, damage, loss, or tampering
  • Recover outstanding fees through registered payment methods (members: Wallet Credit; non-members: Credit Card Hold)
  • Update this rental policy with prior notice
